I came across this in a church newsletter, written by Rev. Brian Walker.
One of the primary characteristics of leading
a life that matters is “belonging.”
As social beings, from the time we are born till our earthly transition, humans require support, care, and love from other humans. The quality of human
relationships in our lives plays a critical role in
determining whether we live meaningful, satisfying lives.
One of the
most challenging times growing up is finding our “tribe.”
Until we do, life can be fraught with feelings of insecurity and isolation.
We all need a place where we feel comfortable revealing our deepest secrets
and feeling accepted for who we are.
